The Philosophy

At Savannah Sight Fishing our target isn't just the fish, it's the fishing. It's putting effort into the pursuit of something difficult and the sense of accomplishment that comes with success. We focus on sight fishing with our own hand tied flies and light tackle gear only.  Our goal is to truly teach you, to take you on an adventure, to stoke an existing passion or create a new one in anglers of all skills and ages.

The Gear

Savannah Sight Fishing puts only top of the line tackle in your hands. Our fly fishing guests are supplied with gear from Orvis and Scott and our light tackle trips feature top of the line gear from Shimano and Bull Bay.

The Skiff

We will be fishing in a custom built Spear Evergladez hand built by legendary Guide and builder Harry Spear. Powered by a 50 horsepower Tohatsu, and drafting less than 6 inches of water, the Evergladez is the magic carpet that lets us stay comfortable and dry as we rip across the wide open sounds to our destination and then silently pole through the flooded grass or deep onto the mud flats at the back of some nameless creek as we sight fish for red drum.

The Destinations

Based on Savannah's Wilmington Island, we are situated right in the middle of the salt marsh between historic Savannah and Tybee Island, and only minutes from the abundant waters around Hilton Head, SC. From the vast Spartina flats to the Tybee Beaches to the low country of Hilton Head and the hundreds of no name creeks in between, you will fish in and learn about some of the most beautiful places in the world.

The Guide

Captain Craig Brown has been chasing fish since he was old enough to hold a rod and after 50 years, the addiction is still as strong as it ever was. Having previously owned and operated Fish Junkie Charters, a successful inshore and offshore charter out of Brigantine, NJ and Cape Coral, FL, Captain Craig has spent years with anglers of all ages and skill levels.  He takes pride in his ability to communicate that experience to his anglers in a simple way, with patience and encouragement to create a day full of smiles and indelible memories that will last a lifetime.
