Yes, it's cold! Well, at least in the morning, but with average daytime temps hitting highs in the low 60s, fishing in the Savannah winter months is really hard to beat. The water is as clear as it ever gets, boat traffic is at its lowest and the fish are schooled up tightly. For visiting anglers, this means it's the easiest it's going to be for you to spot fish all year. However, it does also mean that the fishing is quite a bit more technical. These fish school up because they are feeling vulnerable, and so they will spook easily. However, poling silently onto the flats and presenting flies with slightly longer and accurate casts will be rewarded with aggressive eats.
